Has Anyone Here Ever Visited the Smoking Area at Heathrow Airport? And did it put you off smoking for life?

(Wanted to post this in another category, but the system won't allow me to!!). Having been a light smoker for 47 years (5/6 per day, but really enjoyed them) I've finally kicked the habit and am now moving into the phase when I can say that I no longer think about them. The visit to the room at Heathrow was an eye-opening experience and the word 'addict' was finally driven home to me. I guess the room will close at the end of the month in keeping with the new English law regarding smoking in public places.

i agree with you. I was a smoker till last Jan 06, and haven't smoked since then, nearly 18 months now.

I was a light smoker for about 15 years, as well i did enjoy a good cigarette after a meal or with a coffee and with a good drink.

smoking areas are disgusting, everywhere, they are so small and look like cancer chambers as compared to gas chambers...

I have used the smoking area at Heathrow airport, but never put me off smoking. if it had this effect on you-well done.

You'll be so better off without the fags, I am telling you.

As soon as you reach 4-5 weeks without smoking it is easy after that, and you even enjoy it more.

Keep up. Good luck

We call it the box of death....and worse it's glass so everyone walks by looking at you like you're a complete loser....it hasn't made me quit but I just can't go into it any more.....

It hasn't ever put me off, I have smoked 20 a day for 27 years and always love to find a smoking area how ever smelly they maybe but am thinking about smoking lots at the mo....I have 4 more left which i will try and eke out until I go to bed and then day 1 of not smoking starts tomorrow. Wish me luck!
